FARM Net Silent Key Members
One of the hardest moments for a FARM Net Manager and Net Control Stations is receiving and making Silent Key announcements of FARM Net members. This wall of FARM Net members has been made to memorialize those members who have become silent keys. All efforts have been made to ensure accuracy in reporting the passing of Net members. Though not intentional, some members who are now silent keys may have been overlooked in these announcements. Please notify the farmnetweb.net admin or Net Manager of any corrections needed to the existing announcements, and if reporting an overlooked member silent key, please provide as much detail about the date the member passed and a short comment on their life to be included on this memorial wall.

Bill, K7NHP was OM to Caroll, NV7YL. Shortly after the passing of Bill, Caroll dropped from the FARM Net roster. Thanks to Bill, K7SEE we were able to get the date Caroll became a silent key. Bill and Caroll were active in amateur radio activities that including providing communications support for Pony Express Days.
Joe, K7CBA was a FARM Net member since 1965. He served several terms as FARM Net Manager and was also a Net Control Station during his tenure as a Net member. His signal was easily heard in the Net coverage area when he called the Net, in part due to a unique antenna he designed and a well-maintained station. For his last check-in, he announced to the Net his time was short, and wanted to let everyone know he was honored to have been a Net member. He will be missed.
Gale, W7VPK was a member of the FARM Net for over 32 years. He served several terms as FARM Net Manager and as a Net Control Station. Many Net members will remember when Gale resided in Fallon, NV and was always ready for a QSO on one of the many repeaters around Fallon for which he was the trustee when they were driving near and through Fallon. A few years before he became a silent key, he and his YL moved to Helena, MT to be closer to family.
Jerry, KD7ADH was an active member of the FARM Net and Montana Traffic Net at the time of his passing.
Bill, WA7KMF was originally licensed as WN7KMF in 1968. Bill, a licensed engineer, designed the first mountain top repeater in the Logan, UT area, which is still in use today.
Anna, K6ZOA was active in many traffic nets, and had a voice recognized by many over the air. Shortly before Anna became a silent key, her home along with everything she owned was destroyed in the Paradise fire that swept through California in 2018.
Wayne, W7HWM received the Purple Heart while serving in Viet Nam. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Darlene, K7WEL will be remembered for her bright, cheerful check-ins to the FARM Net.
Frank, W7LTN was first licensed as K8SLU in 1962. Part of his career was spent working for Dennis Hadd, who was the owner of Denton Mfg. Frank and his YL, Jan spent many years traveling the country in their motorhome.
Bob, WT7E was a long-time member of the FARM Net having member number 27 at the time of his passing. According to his QRZ profile, Bob was introduced to amateur radio by his cousin-in-law Bob, K7TM of Coeur d’Alene, ID who is also a long-time member of the FARM Net. Bob had a pudel pointer, Lucy, which is how I met Bob purely by coincidence shortly after I returned to Boise, ID. Bob was walking with Lucy in a park where I noticed Lucy impatiently waiting to be allowed to pursue the ducks and geese around the pond in the park. Like Bob, Lucy was friendly to everyone (except for those pesky waterfowl!) when I approached to greet Bob and Lucy. Bob will be missed by all. (N7KFL)
